Once the desired quantity of pigment powder has been added to the clear Plasti Dip or Glossifier it should be mixed as follows for the best result.

For dispersing the Pigments the key is to create radial or axial flow (shown in the diagram below) which you can achieve with a paddle stirrer or a piece of metal rod. Either way, the stirring head needs to rotate fast enough to create this flow and then the flow needs to be maintained for 15 to 20mins or so.

If a stick is used to stir the liquid, the liquid goes round and round but there is very little shear between the pigment and liquid and the pigment agglomerates (groups of particles stuck together), therefore they don’t separate and disperse. This would give a poor result, with much reduced sparkle and colour.

N.B. If considering using a stirrer on a drill, the drill must be enclosed, as a spark could potentially ignite the Plasti Dip vapour.
